Austin Niemiec will take the helm of Rocket Pro<\/strong> following the departure of Dan Sogorka, according to people familiar with the transition who spoke to HousingWire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Niemiec will retain his title as chief revenue officer of Rocket Mortgage<\/strong> but will focus exclusively on the broker and correspondent channel through Rocket Pro. He will report to Heather Lovier<\/a>, chief operating officer of Rocket Companies<\/strong>, who will assume oversight of all retail operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lovier reports to Jay Bray<\/a>, the president and CEO of Rocket Mortgage, who joined the firm following the completion of the Mr. Cooper Group<\/strong> acquisition<\/a>. National Mortgage Professional first reported the leadership changes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m honored to return to Rocket Pro and champion the brokers who make homeownership possible in the communities they serve,\u201d Niemiec said in a statement. \u201cTogether with Katie [Sweeney], Cory [Scholl], [Mike] Fawaz, and the broader team, we\u2019ll deepen partnerships and drive faster, more impactful outcomes for loan officers and homebuyers alike.<\/p>\n

Sogorka joined Rocket Pro as general manager<\/a>\u00a0in September 2024, several months after stepping down as president and CEO of mortgage technology firm Sagent<\/strong>. During his tenure, Rocket Pro introduced 10 \u201cpartner promises<\/a>\u201d that outlined public commitments to brokers, and it rolled out new products such as debt-service-coverage ratio<\/a> (DSCR) and bridge loans<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After roughly 18 months in the role, Sogorka decided to leave the company for personal reasons. He cited family considerations, including one son attending San Diego State University, another nearing high school graduation and a 2-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe past year and a half has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career. I\u2019ve had the opportunity to listen closely to the broker community and work alongside the dedicated Rocket team to build solutions that made a real difference for brokers and the clients they serve,\u201d Sogorka said in a statement. \u201cWhile I\u2019ve loved my time in Detroit and meeting partners across the country, it feels right to be more present with my family in San Diego.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rocket was the third-largest U.S. mortgage lender in 2025, according to Inside Mortgage Finance, originating $123.7 billion in volume, up 29% year over year.
